Appvita gives DeskAway a 5 on 5: Put Your Projects on Cruise Control

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

DeskAway just got reviewed on Appvita with a 5 on 5 rating!! :)

DeskAway has everything you need in terms of project management. Other competing apps need to be supplemented with yet another app, but this is not the case with DeskAway. Additionally, it’s easy to use and set up – you should have the hang of it and suiting your needs within an hour. This is important, as services such as DeskAway are supposed to make your life easier, not more difficult. Put together, it’s one of the better project management applications we’ve seen to date.

Practical Uses:

  • Create a central location for you and your sales team to hash out ideas and set tasks
  • Monitor your employee’s progress and see if workers are operating as efficiently as possible
  • Make sure your business plan is coming to fruition by applying tasks and milestones to a business’s short and long-term business plan
  • Organize your marketing efforts in one place and track which ones have been most successful

Tech Pluto: DeskAway Scores High among PM Web Services

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Tech Pluto reviewed DeskAway a couple of days back.

Another important aspect which is usually ignored in most of other Project management tools but DeskAway is ‘Security’. Any data exchange that occurs between your computer and DeskAway application is encrypted (256-bit SSL encryption used).

Another thing that’s intelligent about DeskAway is their strategy of choosing ‘right’ partners in playing critical role behind the entire service. They have choosen Rackspace as their ‘hosting service provider’ and ‘Pingdom‘ as their ‘Uptime monitoring service’.

The pricing chart is nominal and gives enough opportunity to end customers with varying set of needs to choose the right plan for themselves.

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Our assumption that we know what everyone’s upto is absolutely wrong. That’s why DeskAway has its own simple micro- blogging feature which allows all the members to post and update their status. Through these statuses, we can learn what others are doing, share links and project updates. Further we can also subscribe to RSS feeds of these updates.

New Feature – Task Calender View

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

DeskAway has just added a new task calendar feature. So if there’s loads of tasks in your project and you wish to have a consolidated view of the task within a project along with their respective deadlines, just click on the small icon next to the Task list page heading and you will see a new calendar pop up and guide you through all the tasks and their deadlines.

New Feature – Adding new tasks from anywhere.

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Too many clicks are annoying. From our experience and feedback, we realised that the tasks feature is used quite heavily. Therefore, to make your working more seamless, we have made the ‘Add Tasks’ feature available from every page of your application. This way you can add a task from just anywhere into any project and reduce some precious time navigating through the application.
