TIP - Get added security while using DeskAway

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

SSL” stands for Secure Sockets Layer. With SSL, the data that you send between your computer and the DeskAway server is encrypted.
So if you are looking for some added security just enable SSL for your account.

1) You have to login to your DeskAway account as the “Account Owner” & go to the “SSL Security” page from the “Settings” tab

2) Click on the “Enable SSL now” link to enable the SSL for your DeskAway account.

3) The “http” in the url will change to “https” & you might also see a small yellow colored icon of a lock depending on your browser.

4) You can disable the SSL security anytime by clicking on the “Disable SSL now” link.

That’s it! By enabling SSL you are adding more security to your DeskAway account.

DeskAway is 256-bit SSL-enabled

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Its finally here! DeskAway is 256-bit SSL encryption-enabled. What this means is that the data that you send between your computer and the DeskAway server is encrypted. Its like sending a coded message. If you bank online or use ecommerce sites then you have already used SSL. SSL will make it very difficult for unauthorized people to view information traveling between your computer and the DeskAway server. SSL is great for added security.

Note:
1. Only Account Owners within an account can enable/disable SSL from the Settings tab.
2. The SSL feature is only present on the Professional, Plus or Power plans.

Follow these steps to enable or disable SSL in within your account:

(For Account Owners - Go to Settings->SSL Security Link)

(Enable SSL)

The Account Owner will immediately see the https:// on the browser window. All other logged in team members would need to logout and login back.

(Disable SSL)

We have also made the login page SSL-driven for all plans. So, whenever you login, your information will be encrypted and sent to DeskAway.

Enjoy the added security!
