Product Update: Small Fixes

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

A few small fixes…

Fixed: Logo flicker issue in Chrome & Safari
Some user logos seemed to be flickering when loaded using Chrome and Safari browsers. This issue has been fixed and all logos should load and display perfectly fine now.

Fixed: Loading a new project from a template
A silent project that was loaded from a template was treated as an email-enabled project.

Fixed: Milestone sorting for ongoing milestones
Milestones sorting was displayed randomly for ongoing milestones (milestones that don’t have a deadline). We now sort these milestones by their id numbers - the latest added milestone will be top of the ongoing section.

Cloning projects using Templates

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Templates are re-usable portions of a project (milestones, task lists, tasks, doc templates) that can be used in creating other similar types of projects. Something like a ‘project clone’. Ever had a process that you follow and wish you did not have to type it out everytime you made a new project? DeskAway Templates will help you save time and get you more process-driven.

1. Click on any Project (not archived) and you will get the “Create Template” link on the right corner of the “Project” sub menu.

2. A template can copy the following data from an existing project to a new  project:
a. Active Team Members
b. Milestones
c. Task Lists
d. Doc Templates

Give a name/ description to your template (e.g. Web Design Process) and click on Save. Next, you will be taken to the Templates page.

Here, choose the template that you just saved and load it in a new project by clicking on the “Load in New Project” Link.

A new project will be created with the data from the template you just loaded. Using “Templates” saves time adding the same content (Milestones, Task Lists etc.) to a new Project. Aren’t we all pressed for time these days?
