Thank you apps. You help us grow!

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Hats-off to all those company that have accomplished growing their businesses in the pre-web era. Today, it almost seems impossible a run a startup without the use of web apps - to help you check your mail, answer support requests, send out newsletter and accomplish several other functions. What we find interesting in using web apps is that they are inexpensive, easy to setup and automate a lot of processes that were othervise done manually. Automation allows us to free up valuable time that we can pour into working ‘on’ our business rather than ‘in’ it.

Here are some of the tools we use at our workplace. We wanted to say a big THANK YOU for helping us grow our business…

Google Apps - email and document sharing

DeskAway (obviously!) - project collaboration, planning and messaging

Zendesk - support

GetSatisfaction - online community

iContact - email marketing

Google Analytics - tracking visitors on our site

Crazy Egg - heatmaps for pages on our site

Pingdom - monitoring uptime on our servers

Wordpress - blog platform

Twitter - customer support and outreach

Screenr - quick 1-minute help videos online

Dropbox - sharing files across home, office

Skype - communications and demos

#Simpli5 Twitter Chats on Business Productivity

Friday, March 26th, 2010

We have started a Twitter Chat on Business Productivity every Thursdays with the #simpli5 tag. Yesterday was the first such chat on the topic of Email Overload. It was very interesting to discuss how other people are managing their emails, their tips and tricks!

sahilparikh:
I normally check my mail only a few times in the day. Reply to the most important first. Don’t treat emails as your tasklist #simpli5
guglanisam: Whenever I find my self sending same reply to many mails I create “canned response” (gmail feature). It works like magic #simpli5
deskaway: Interesting article on how to manage an overwhelmed Inbox http://ow.ly/1qKbm #simpli5
priyankawriting: have not used Gmail filters or folders option.. maybe thats why my inbox feels unorganized :p #simpli5
mrjain: @priyankawriting I use filters and anything in my inbox is automatically my to-do list #simpli5
raghavsoni: @sahilparikh I create filters 2 mark all imp. mails related 2 clients to folders like - Action(Immediate) , Someday (At ease) #simpli5

Read the entire transcript!

These chats will be happening every Thursday, to know about the topic and other notifications please follow @simpli5! See you there!
