Jodi Fisher, Owner of Impact Virtual Services, shared her views on how she uses DeskAway to collaborate with her team...
How are you using DeskAway and what value is it providing your team? Were you using any other tool or method before DeskAway?
We are using DeskAway as a project management system. It helps us identify who is working on what tasks, deadlines, and a holding place for all files related to a client. We did not use anything other than email before.
Can you give a specific incident or example when DeskAway was really useful when managing or getting a project completed?
We used to have a hard time keeping the whole team updated on passwords for clients. To be able to have a central place to hold files (and upload updated versions) has been instrumental in saving time and increasing efficiency for instances like these.
Was there a learning curve associated with DeskAway? How did your team adapt to a new application?
There is a bit of a learning curve, but people seemed to catch on fairly quickly. Each new team member goes through a training conducted by myself, and we ask each other questions and share information as issues/questions pop up.
What features does your team use the most?
We use new projects, deadlines, tasks, files, and docs the most.
Are you emailing (sending tasks, attachments etc.) less because of DeskAway?
Yes, much less!
How has DeskAway helped in lowering project costs, profitability or improving efficiency?
See my example of updated versions of documents above. This was one of our biggest challenges as information is constantly changing and being updated. DeskAway has drastically increased our efficiency, access to information, and management of project deadlines.
Are there any other thoughts that you would want to share with us regarding our service, product etc.?
I think it's a great service for any company that has a team. People hate to be slammed with emails, and this allows us all to stay on top of a project without having to send multiple emails to team members throughout the length of the project. As far as managing projects, it's a huge time saver to be able to glance at tasks and deadlines, and make sure everything is getting accomplished!
Thanks Jodi and good luck with your business!
