1. What is BaseEscape?
BaseEscape is a tool that we developed in order to facilitate smooth transfer of your data from your Basecamp account to DeskAway.
2. What is a pre-requisite/requirement in order to use BaseEscape?
You need to have an account with DeskAway (even a free account is fine) and you need the .xml file which has to be exported from your Basecamp Account.
3. How do I export the .XML file from Basecamp?
Login to your Basecamp account. Navigate to the Account (Upgrade/Billing) tab on the top right. Scroll down to the "Need to export your data?" section and request a xml file of your account. They will then email you the exported xml file which you can upload to BaseEscape.
4. Is it possible for any DeskAway User to do a BaseEscape?
No, Only the Account Owner of a DeskAway account can use the BaseEscape tool. Please note, you can only BaseEscape once.
5. Where do I access the BaseEscape feature in DeskAway?
Login to your DeskAway account as the Account Owner. Keep your mouse cursor on the "My Account" link (top right corner).
6. How can I do a BaseEscape?
Click on the BaseEscape sublink which will bring you to this page.
Then browse the exported Basecamp .xml file from your computer and click on the "I want to use DeskAway" button. Your .xml file will be imported into your DeskAway account.
7. How long will it take to BaseEscape?
Normally, it take only a few minutes. For 1000+ projects it might take around 10 mins.
8. How many times can I initiate a BaseEscape?
BaseEscape can be used only once by the Account Owner. Once you do a BaseEscape, the 'BaseEscape' link under 'My Account' will disappear.
9. What can be imported with BaseEscape?
All Users, Projects, Milestones, Task Lists, Tasks, Task Comments, Messages, Message Comments and Time sheets will be imported into your DeskAway account from your Basecamp account.
