Welcome!

Hello there!

Welcome to this month's edition of the DeskAway newsletter. As we are consuming more and more energy for our needs it becomes more relevant for us to start "going green". And I realized that one of the easiest ways is to start with online applications.

Firstly, there would be no need to buy a new server and consume more energy since someone else is hosting the app for you (possibly in an energy efficient datacenter). Secondly, you eliminate the purchase of software packages and hence save on packaging & printing. Lastly, you and your team can store everything online (which is accessible anywhere, anytime) and hence eliminate the need to print stuff.

Do you use any 'green' practices at your workplace? Do email me at sahil@deskaway.com and I'd be happy to compile a final list and put it up on our blog for everyone to read and learn from.

As more and more email signatures have "Think before you Print! Save Trees!",
lets make a difference in a simple way.

Go Green!

Sahil Parikh
Founder, DeskAway.com

New Feature - Project Templates

Save your project as a template and then re-use this template for other projects. For example, lets say you have a project that always has a fixed set of processes and to-do's (see example). Instead of re-creating this manually each time you add a new project, you will be able to simply 'save' this snapshot as a template and then 'load' it into a new project! An easy and convenient way to save time.

New Feature - Personal Email Reminders

Each of your team members will be able to turn on the automatic email reminder facility. This will enable DeskAway to email each and every one of them a list of their projects (and milestones, tasks, issues) that are Overdue & Approaching Deadlines.

"I am very impressed with how quickly Sahil got back to me in answering my questions initially. Your friendliness and product is exceptional and one that my business will use for many years to come. Thank you for providing such a wonderful product!"
Kelli R. Claypool,
Owner, Briefcase Diva
http://www.BriefcaseDiva.com

Briefcase Diva is a full-service design, marketing, blogging and coaching firm that works with small businesses and start-ups.

Before learning about DeskAway, Kelli & her team would communicate via email and conference calls. When working on several projects at one time, multiple emails became confusing and sometimes got lost in the mountain of paperwork required to complete a project. Since Kelli is very particular with the organization of each of the project, she expects her team to be equally organized as well. With DeskAway, this expectation was met with extreme ease. Her team actually finds DeskAway a “cool product” and they enjoy learning more and more about the service.

As for the learning curve, DeskAway has proven to be user-friendly and easy to understand. Her team has taken remarkably well to the program. They actually challenge each other to learn something new about the service everyday.

Kelli and her team now email a lot less. DeskAway has helped them become more efficient in handling multiple projects. Everything specific to the project is in one place, so they save time that would otherwise be spent in hunting and searching for an email or a file.

Thank you Kelli! And good luck with your projects!
