Hello there!
Welcome to this month's edition of the DeskAway newsletter. As we near the long weekend (Diwali, the festival of lights which is celebrated towards the end of october), we are happy to announce that we have extended our team to include Morpheus Venture Partners (MVP) - a business advisory firm located in Bangalore, India. MVP will provide DeskAway mentorship, access to the right network, product strategy, fundraising strategy etc. and work with us every week to build a world-class online service.
I have personally interacted with Sameer Guglani & Nandini Hirianniah of MVP over the last few months and I am very excited to have them as a part of the extended DeskAway family. We all look forward to working with them in the coming months.
To good times!

| Using email to manage projects is so old-school! |

Mangaging projects and teams via email is so old school.
Mr. PM is very very comfortable with email. Everyday, he uses email
to send out tasks, project reports and assignments to his boss and the
team. His office is on email fire!
As projects and team members increased, having a no-tracking system
gave way to frustration, lack of clarity and a sense of clutter.
PM and his team started spending late hours drawing up plans, accumulating tasks from their inboxes
and searching for revised versions of files.
Enter the new way of working.
With DeskAway, this problem is easily
solved. Use email for project notifications only and have all the
important stuff stored in the system that is searchable, can send you
automatic updates and even print you neat reports.
Old-school might be comfortable, but we all need to get out of our
comfort zones from time to time and experience something new and
refreshing!

Parksons Games and Sports of Mumbai has teamed up with one of UK’s top board and card game designers, Mike Woods and chairman of That Games Company of Gloucestershire, England, to design and market a range of new games for the Indian market.
The first of these is a 20/20 Cricket game, as well as a word and number games - "Spread the Word" and "15's" respectively . While “Spread the Word” and “15s” will be available from this September onwards in time for the Festival season; “20/20” will be launched individually – with some fanfare – this December to coincide with the Christmas Holiday season and various Cricket tournaments.
Parksons are universally known for the superb quality of their playing cards
and manufacture more than 25 million decks per year. That Games
Company has designed games for many multi-nationals including
Pedigree Petfoods, Colgate Palmolive, Birdseye, Saudi Arabian
Airlines. Holiday Inn and the British Olympic Association. They also
manufacture a range of their own games all supplied in
a unique tube format.
In an email conversation, this is what Mike had to say:
“With the design element in England and
the manufacturing in Mumbai, DeskAway makes the project so much easier. We are able to download large files in seconds and it is virtually like being in the next office. It is an invaluable tool, which we use practically every day and I can recommend it wholeheartedly.”
Way to go Mike & Parksons!
