DeskAway is 256-bit SSL encryption-enabled. What this means is that the data that you send between your computer and the DeskAway server is encrypted. It's like sending a coded message. If you bank online or use ecommerce sites then you have already used SSL. SSL will make it very difficult for unauthorized people to view information traveling between your computer and the DeskAway server.
On the application level, DeskAway provides each user with a unique username and password that is immediately encrypted when you sign up. All login pages are protected with SSL.
Additionally, all access within DeskAway is permission based - there are 3 types of users (Super, Regular, Limited) and 3 types of permission levels for projects, tasks, files, events, milestones (Public, Private, Shared). Users can only access stuff that they have been given permission to access. For example, Nancy, who is a consultant could be a Limited User and would only see 2 out of the 15 projects you have.
